![]() ![]() It is not a requirement and you will have great service without tipping, but it just makes it that much better More Show less We always tipped and you could see how excited and surprised they were. The staff work so hard and many of them leave their families to work at the resort. When you leave the resort you realize how much poverty is surrounding you. The Dominican Republic is a third world country. While the resort website says all inclusive and you don't need to tip, a few dollars goes a long way. Finally, my one suggestion is to bring money for tips. Our favorite was the Circus performance the team did so many incredible tricks. At night The Entertainment Team put on great shows. I enjoyed doing yoga on the beach and the aerobics classes each day. Between Secrets and Now Lamar, there are lots of activities that you can choose to participate in daily. We had a great time swimming, kayaking and snorkeling. While it is annoying, the resort did not choose to put a pile of seaweed on the beach so I don't think it should be held against them. We watched tractors and men pushing wheelbarrows attempt to clean up the neverending seaweed. It is definitely in piles along the shore and in patches in the water, but the resorts try so hard to clean it up. The waitstaff was what made our dining experience so fantastic! Many people have mentioned the seaweed on the beach. The food was decent it is not 5 star quality, but we expected that. To be honest, the food there was typically better. As far as food goes, there is lots of variety! We were able to eat at a different restaurant each night because Secrets guests are able to visit Now Lamar's, the resort next door, restaurants. Our housekeepers, Lourda and Luis, did an amazing job keeping our room clean. It seemed like the AC in our room was having a hard time keeping up. The weather in Punta Cana was so humid and sticky. Our room was very spacious with nice amenities. They always had a smile on their faces and they remembered our orders every time. Ana and Rosa, bartenders at the Preferred Club, made our experience super excelente! These two women worked so hard to bring drinks to guest on the beach. It was nice because if we wanted to be entertained or participate in activities we could just head over to that pool, but we also had the option to relax in a quieter space. The Preferred Club pool area is much calmer than the main pool. The Preferred Club gives you access to an additional restaurant during breakfast and lunch as well as, access to a private pool and beach area. We decided to upgrade to the Preferred Club and it was the best decision we made. Most spoke basic English, but I wish I knew Spanish so I could find out more about their lives. They were always smiling and willing to help in any way possible. We recently got back from Secrets Resort for our honeymoon and it was fantastic! As others have mentioned the staff made our stay so great. Our housekeepers, Lourda and Luis, did an amazing job keeping our room clean.Īs far as food. ![]() ![]()
